Memory, blurred and dim. Bearing tourists on its back, running itself dry, flies and mucus coil around the corners of its eyes; inside the pupils, a pitch-black space.
O lowered eyelids— chaotic, heavy memory gallops across the open field, rolling through mud soaked with rain. At every flash of lightning, every crash of thunder, listen with the eyes.
More than a century ago, that forebear in Turin once sent its gaze straight through, wiring itself in series with the pupils of a genius. And now, there are no longer any living eyes.
